Dental crowns enable our team to preserve even severely damaged teeth while renewing the full form and function of patients’ smiles. We may recommend a dental crown restoration in many situations including repairing severe decay or trauma, concealing cosmetic irregularities, protecting root canal treated teeth, and replacing missing teeth as part of a fixed bridge or implant-supported tooth replacement prosthetic. A crown is crafted to fit over the top of a damaged tooth, protecting the remaining dental structure from further trauma or decay and restoring the shape of the tooth in the smile line.
Crowns are available in several materials depending on the patient's preference, including gold, porcelain bonded to metal, and all-ceramic. Our dentists can help you determine which option is right for you.
Regardless of your material choice, the process is completed over the course of two appointments. During the initial visit, we prepare the tooth, capture impressions to design the crown, and place a temporary restoration. Once we receive the final product, you can return to exchange the temporary for your custom dental crown.

If we’re unable to save a damaged, decayed, or irregular tooth with a dental crown or other restorations, we also offer tooth replacement options like an implant-retained dental crown or a crown-supported fixed bridge.

What is a Dental Bridge?
A dental bridge is a tooth replacement prosthetic used to replace one or more consecutive teeth. The replacement teeth are fused on both sides to dental crowns. Then, the entire prosthetic is fitted into place by attaching the crowns to healthy teeth on both sides of the gap in your smiles.

How are Dental Crowns & Bridges Placed?
Dental crowns and fixed bridges are placed over the course of two trips to our dental office. At the first visit, we will prepare your smile. This may involve shaping remaining tooth enamel, removing damaged dental structure, and even extracting damaged teeth. Once the smile is prepared, we capture bite impressions that are used by our dental lab to craft your custom restoration. Then, we place a temporary crown or bridge to protect your prepared tooth or teeth. Once the dental lab has completed your crown or bridge restoration, you’ll come back for the second visit, so we can remove the temporary restoration. Then, we place the quality, custom crown or bridge to seamlessly renew your smile.
